I have a few questions to answer...
Kym asked - when I went for dinner on Saturday night, did I eat?
Yes and no. I tried a tiny amount of ravioli at entree and it went down so I tried a little bit more with sauce and it got stuck. I had a quick trip to the toilet and after that just made conversation and drank water & a little wine. When mains came I knew the chicken breast wouldn't go down but the cous cous did so I just a wee bit of that and it was fine. By the time deserts came I was able to eat the miniature cheesecake and ironically it went down. The entire courses took about 2 hours from entree to dessert so it was timed perfectly for me.
Honestly, I didn't NEED to eat. I had a bite to eat before I went and a shake with my tablets crushed into it so I was physically full and satisfied.
I know how bizarre that sounds to someone who used to diet flat out. "But you NEED to eat". Technically yes, for nutrients. Trust me when I say I eat more nutrients now than I ever did eating 2 Hungry Jacks or Mcdonalds or KFC meal deals a day. It may be in liquid or multivitamin form but I'm getting them.
Tracy from my work asked today "What do you do about clothes?"
I am not ashamed to admit I get most of my fabulous clothes from second hand shops. Not sure what they are like in the rest of the world but the ones I go to - the clothes are freshly laundered and ironed/steamed and in brilliant condition. I may do a post on some of the incredible bargains I've picked up recently. I also get some from my best friend Meg.
That reminds me, I need to 'pay it forward' and donate some of my bigger clothes.
Random man at dinner on Saturday asked "What is the one thing you haven't missed"
Softdrink. I have had approx 3 drinks of softdrink/soda since having the band. I just find it uncomfortable most days to get it down but more than that - I just don't crave it like I used to. That's coming from someone who used to drink up to 3 litres/day.
Ian at dinner on Saturday night asked "Don't mean to be a rude bastard, but what about the flapping skin and stuff?"
I resemble a melted candle. But then I did each time I lost weight in the past cept now I have two baby bellys to add to that stretched mix. I know what I'd rather have. Flappy skin over heart disease anyday! There isn't even a chocie.
When the day comes I will probably chose to have a tummy tuck. After c sections the muscles there are just beyond repair.
A friends husband "Whats the go with the sex life now? Better cause ya skinny?"
*blinks* I'm not skinny, but I am skinnier. Now, my mother & family read this blog and I respectfully decline details but yes - it's amazing. My lingerie choices have opened up a whole new world to myself and Mr Bandit. That's all. :-)
Is there anything you'd like to ask? No holds barred. Go ahead.

Great post!
I worry too much about what other people think :) I would have felt uncomfortable going to dinner and not eating dinner, but I like that you are open about being banded. Maybe one day, I will be too.
Great questions and answers.
I can still manage Diet Coke, thank goodness, but only slowly and I usually leave it in the glass a while to go flat a bit.
Re clothes, I so wouldn't mind buying second hand, but have no idea where to get nice size 16 clothes.
The flappy skin scares me, but you're so right, its much better than the alternative!
Re sex, good for you! I'm so hoping my weightloss gives me the confidence to go get some. Two years between drinks is a long bloody time!
Loved the post - your blog is defo one of my favourites. So open and informative at the same time. Love it.

I have a question...Is emotional eating/wanting to eat a problem for you and if it is how do you deal with it now that you have the band?
And if I can ask 2 I would also like to know how your perception of yourself has changed?
I would love to see some of the things you have picked up at the second hand store!
