Sizes

On Friday I went to Target.  "Just to see"

Just to see what sizes I am.  I've been swimming around in my clothes and need some new one but am making do with a few hand me downs and some items I had that were in the back of my cupboard.

Anyway. I walked in and grabbed dresses from everywhere.  The young, funky section - the plus sized area and the regular section.

I took 12 dresses in the change room (sizes 16 and 18) and only thought to take a picture with the last one I tried on.

This is it. I can see a big change.

Funnily enough, the size 16's from the regular section FIT! They actually fit!  A lump and bump here and there but nothing gross.

The size 16's from the young funky section were tight.  I got the fitted dresses on but they were tight.  So I did a brave thing and layby-ed them. They'll surely fit sometime in the next few months. Some gorgeous cocktail style dresses. I wish I'd taken a picture!

So I'm a size 18 in jeans from Katies (my first EVER purchase from Katies). They are nice and figure hugging and I feel very slinky in them.

I've also had a few dress moments over the past week. I was asked to model for City Chic in the Bendigo Fashion Gala. It was all very glam and I fit into a small (by their sizing) in this dress.

It was a weird, exhilarating moment walking down a catwalk with serious fashionistas who had paid to go sitting in the audience.  I got plenty of cheers and whistles and was the last of our group to saunter down the catwalk. All a bit of fun. :)

The best part is, for doing the show we get 40% of ANYTHING in the store, as much as I want to buy. Cha Ching! The dress I wore felt in.cred.i.ble on so I'd like to buy it for my school reunion which is in a few weeks.

Oh, and this was the venue..  The town hall...(taken during interval - hence the empty seats)

I also had another size moment during my hunt for a dress last night to wear to my friend/ bridesmaid Ree's hens night.  I filed through every nice gown/cocktail dress I had in my wardrobe and all of them fell off me.  Literally.  I couldn't stop laughing and I'd run out to the lounge in each dress and say "Scott!!!! Look at this!"  *cue dress falling off me* Talk about wake up call.

So I finally dug around in some old outfits, filed away deep in the recesses of a rarely opened wardrobe and voila! I found a dress I had made for a work xmas party 6 years ago when I was halfway through Becks Challenge. I tried it on and it fit!  I felt a little self concious in it but friends and Scott assured me it was ok so I wore it.

This was last night in that dress. I felt beautiful, voluptuous and curvy with a pinch of slinky.

Oh, another benefit of loosing weight? I could wear my heels all night and didn't feel like cutting my feet off at the ankles. Huzzah! Win!

So that has been my little size revelations over the past week.  I feel like I am finally out of the 20's and moving down!
