Do You Have to Get It Adjusted?
Yes, as they add a saline solution to the band it will tighten and restrict the amount of food I can eat.
How much does it cost?
If you don't have private health cover it may cost upward of $14,000. Any on going costs will be on your purse.
If you have health cover, the operation is covered by Medicare and there is a one off cost of $3950* payable a week before my operation. This covers all the costs of visits for the life of my band. It covers the costs of 'fills' and covers all the visits I may need to my centre.
I have got 2 friends who had it done through the Medicare Waiting List. It cost them nothing and the wait was under a year.
