Tu-Tu Fat?

So we know I'm not at one with my overweight self.  In a true, authentic self kind of way.

But let me tell you something. From a performers point of view, it has always protected me. It has allowed me to always play the funny fat girl roles. It has allowed me a buffer when I did stand-up comedy.

Hey! I brought up the comments everyone was too embarrassed to say but they thought them anyway and screamed with laughter when I broke that barrier.

None of this is ideal. It's self depreciating but hey - I did what I did out of a love for the arts, live theatre, comedy etc in a way that allowed me to bring up my fat before others did.

Do you know what I'm just about to do?  Make myself a Tu-tu.  A plus sized ballerina tu-tu.

Why?  Well I am starting to do little girls birthday parties. Nail parties through my business "You're Gorgeous Darling".  For girls between around 8-16.  Lots of goodies. Lots of creations. Lots of bright nails and nail art (plus some education thrown in) and I want to wear a tu-tu. If you really know me, you'll get it.

I got the inspiration from an Etsy Seller who makes the most incredible tu-tus for grown women.  Given that I'm about to lose a collosal amount of weight in the next year or so, it wouldn't be smart to spend the money she's asking on her devine creations, so I found this online tutorial and I'm off!

You're NEVER tu-tu fat to wear a tu-tu.

Hell, if you're game, do the bloody cleaning in it <----  LOVE this photo!!

Fantastic idea - every girl (of every age) should have a tu-tu

hehe - I can't wait to see the finished product. I agree though I think as a performer you will have used your weight to your advantage before someone else got in. However I think you are a fabulous performer regardless of what shape or size you are. To me you will always be a star!!
